Cardiff Met Archers are thrilled to have re-signed three of their Welsh core for the forthcoming WBBL campaign.
Laura Shanahan, Emily Stradling and Chloe Richards are all back on board as the club puts their roster plans in place for 2017-18.
Shanahan is a regular member of the Wales senior women and Stradling is starting her second year at St David’s College and has played for both Wales U23 as well as making the Great Britain U18 squad. Meanwhile Richards has also played for the Wales U23 – as well as the senior women and she is about to embark on her second year at Cardiff Met University.
“We are very pleased to retain the services of our Welsh trio as all three are at different stages of their respective playing careers,” explained head coach, Stef Collins.
“Laura Shanahan has become a cornerstone for us and we are thrilled to see her returning for another season in the WBBL as valued veteran of our side.
“Chloe will benefit from having a year at University under her belt and playing her first season in the WBBL. I’m excited to see what she can bring to the table with a bit more experience and confidence.
“Lastly, we are extremely proud of Emily and her achievements this summer in being selected for the U18 Women’s GB squad where she has been suiting up in preparation games against the Netherlands.
“She has worked tirelessly over the season and post-season and it is great to see her extra hours of hard work pay off,” added Collins.
