The Cheshire Jets and the Guildford Heat officially bagged the last two playoff spot after an exciting end of the BBL Championship regular season during the weekend.
The Jets had their peak form at the right time as they swept their final two assignments to formally bag the seventh spot in the BBL Championship playoffs.
With them playing with a lot of sense of urgency, the Jets hammered out a dominating 95-78 win over the Prestige Home MK Lions on Friday night, a win that put them two games ahead of the Mersey Tigers in the race for the final playoff spot.
The win against the Lions further boosted their confidence as they followed it up with another convincing 80-64 win over the Glasgow Rocks on Sunday night at the Northgate Arena.
Collin O’Reilly had a huge night as he led all scorers with 29 points; Adam Brown added 18 points to go with seven rebounds and six assists, while Matt Schneck added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Jets, who set up a playoff duel with second-seeded Worcester Wolves.
Meanwhile, the Guildford Heat struggled to find their rhythm on Saturday night that resulted in a loss against the cellar-dwelling Durham Wildcats, 96-85, but they managed to end up eighth in the standings heading into the BBL Playoffs.
The Heat finished with an 11-17 record, edging the Tigers who pushed their record to 10-19 after two convincing wins during the weekend.
