The wait is over for BA London Lions as they picked up their first win of the season as the WBBL Trophy began over the weekend.
GB junior international Loren Christie posted 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Lions to a 75-70 success over her former side Oaklands Wolves, on Sunday evening.
“The game was a tough one – we all went in with the mentality to win and really worked hard for the dub,” declared Christie.
“It was a joint effort with all the guards pushing the ball in transition and finding us easy looks.
“I think it all came down to our hustle and desire to finally get that win – with the support of the crowd, we managed to get it done.”
She added: “I must say it feels great to get the win since we’ve been in any close games but we finally pulled through.
“Charlotte Ellmore had a great contribution with her leadership and putting up 12 points and 5 assists left us in a great position to win and with Tereza (Brantlova) and Flora (Durgerian) hitting open shots.
“I’m really proud of everyone.”
