It’s been a while since we caught up with a WBBL player to find out more and we tip-off our series again with Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters’ teenager Ana

Signature Play: Defence and finishing fast-breaks.
How did you get into basketball? My mum encouraged me to try it when I was eight years old and since then, I haven’t stopped playing.
Do you have any superstitions or rituals before you play? I normally listen to the same music before games.
What has been your best basketball memory so far? Winning the Canary Islands Championship and being 4th in the Spanish Championship.
Favourite basketball arena? Gran Canaria Arena.
What sports do you enjoy outside of basketball and who do you follow/support? I just watch any sport, whatever is on the TV.
Who would you want to play you in a film of your life? Mila Kunis
If you could be a character in any film or TV show (current or past), who would you be and why? Kendall Jenner in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, because she’s a strong independant women and her family life is very entertaining.
What would be your perfect weekend? Going with my friends to Bora Bora.
At school your best subjects and your worst are/were? My best were P.E. and Art and my worst were English Language and Literature.
Your coach has asked you to organise a team-bonding activity. What activity would you go for and why? Preparing dinner all together, because we would properly have a laugh and a good time.
Who or what makes you laugh? Everything. I spend almost all the day laughing and smiling.
Who and/or what do you find really annoying? When people click their fingers.
You win millions in a competition – who do you tell first and why, what do you buy first and why? I would tell my family first and I would pay all of their mortgage. If I have any money left after that, I would travel around the world.
If you didn’t play basketball, what other sport would you like to be a pro in and why? Synchronised swimming, because other than basketball, swimming was the other sport I did when I was younger.
Finally, tell us something hardly anybody or nobody knows about you? Every time I go on holiday to another country, I bring back a souvenir cup for my parents!
