How did you get into basketball? I used to play netball and do athletics at regional level up until I was about 14, but I always used to think basketball was a much cooler sport. One time I went and tried out a local club team and have never looked back since.
Do you have any superstitions or rituals before you play? Nope. I used to always put my left shoe on before my right shoe, but I forgot to do it one time and I played well, so I stopped.
What has been your best basketball memory so far? Well I have two… One is definitely being a part of the promotion team for U16 England in 2014! The other was the Copenhagen Invitational in 2012 for the U15 England Team – this was my first year of playing basketball and it just highlighted to me the types of opportunities basketball could present me with!
Favourite basketball arena? My home court.
What sports do you enjoy outside of basketball and who do you follow/support? Can I pass? I don’t really watch or support any teams outside of basketball!
Who would you want to play you in a film of your life? Beyonce. Just ‘cos’!
If you could be a character in any film or TV show (current or past), who would you be and why? Cookie from Empire, because she’s so feisty.
What would be your perfect weekend? Travelling somewhere hot for two days with my friends and just relaxing.
At school your best subjects and your worst are/were? My favourite subjects were history, sociology and maths. My worst subject was definitely French. I used to think I could get away with making up my own words in oral exams if I said it in a French accent.
Your coach has asked you to organise a team-bonding activity. What activity would you go for and why? That’s funny, we were talking about this the other day. Something that involves dressing up and putting on make-up – very rare as an athlete.
Who or what makes you laugh? I’m easily amused, so I pretty much find things other people wouldn’t find funny, funny. Plus my team-mates never disappoint in making me laugh either!
Who and/or what do you find really annoying? Am I the only one who gets upset when people sneeze and don’t cover their mouth?
You win millions in a competition – who do you tell first and why, what do you buy first and why? First things first, a major shopping spree would be due. I would want to say I would tell my mum first, but she would probably tell me to do something sensible with it like put it all in a savings account. To be honest, I don’t think I would tell anyone as I wouldn’t want them to start treating me differently.
If you didn’t play basketball, what other sport would you like to be a pro in and why? I love the team aspect of basketball, so it would be another team sport like football.
Finally, tell us something hardly anybody or nobody knows about you? I promise I’m not weird, but when I was about five-years-old, I used to think I was Catwoman. One day I thought it would be a good idea to try my cat’s food. That put an end to that belief really quickly!
