We take time-out to find out more about a member of the WBBL family and this time it’s a rising star in South Wales.
Name: Levi Warren

How did you get into basketball? I pretty much did every sport I could when I was younger, but only tried basketball for the first time in school when I was 14. My PE teacher, who was a player herself, got my involved with my local club, Reading Rockets and I’ve just loved playing ever since.
Do you have any superstitions or rituals before you play? I always have to put my right shoe on before my left.
What has been your best basketball memory so far? Winning the National Cup last season.
What sports do you enjoy outside of basketball and who do you follow/support? I enjoy football and I’m a big supporter of women’s football. Whenever I go back home, I go to watch Chelsea ladies play. I also really like watching tennis.
What would be your perfect weekend? Spending time with my family – since being at Uni, I don’t get to see them much.
At school your best subjects and your worst are/were? I obviously loved P.E. and I also really enjoyed Maths. My worst subjects were Science and English.
Your coach has asked you to organise a team-bonding activity. What activity would you go for and why? I’m a very ‘outdoorsy’ person, so some sort of outdoors activity like a team assault course – I think that would be fun.
Who or what makes you laugh? My family as we spend most of the time laughing when we are all together. Also my house-mates constantly make me laugh.
Who and/or what do you find really annoying? I can’t stand other people cracking their fingers.
You win millions in a competition – who do you tell first and why, what do you buy first and why? Being a student, I’d go straight to my house-mates and tell them we can finally put the heating on. They constantly moan they are cold.
If you didn’t play basketball, what other sport would you like to be a pro in and why? Probably football, I played for 10 years before I started basketball and I still love to play occasionally.
Finally, tell us something hardly anybody or nobody knows about you? I play basketball with my left hand, but I write and play every other sport with my right hand!
