Changes confirmed at Sevenoaks Suns

January 7, 2016 By Leave a Comment

Currently occupying a top four slot, Sevenoaks Suns have made some roster changes as they prepare to resume their WBBL Championship campaign after the festive break.

Head Coach Len Busch has confirmed the departure of leading scorer and Great Britain international Chantelle Pressley, while Janis Peterson has also left the side.

However, Suns have mitigated the loss by acquiring the services of guard Lauren Clarke out of Brown University.

“Chantelle has gone on to new pastures in Germany and it is a big loss for us – although not entirely unexpected as she had wanted to broaden her horizons in Europe,” stated Busch.

“I was hoping that she would stay with us, but it wasn’t to be and Janis has also left after opting to return to the States.

“However, we have signed Lauren who is a 5ft 8in guard who was a four year starter at Brown University and she will be ready to play against Team Northumbria this weekend.

“We don’t have any immediate plans to replace Chantelle in the frontcourt – something which gives more minutes and opportunities to our younger players,” added the play-caller.
