GB internationals to go head-to-head as best teams in Europe…

April 29, 2021 By RPJ Leave a Comment

All eyes will be on the Champions Cup this weekend with up to 14 GB athletes expected to line-up for their clubs as the top teams in Europe go head-to-head in Germany.

Hosted at RSV Lahn-Dill’s Rittal Arena Wetzlar, the eight-team competition features clubs from Germany, Italy and Spain, and is a new tournament for this year following the cancellation of the usual continental tournaments due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The competition gets underway with the quarter-finals on Friday (30 April), with the winners progressing through to Saturday’s semi-finals before the final placing games, including the final, on Sunday (2 May).

There will be plenty of British interest with six of the eight teams featuring British players on their rosters (Baskets 96 Rahden, BSR ACE Gran Canaria, BSR Amiab Albacete, CD Ilunion, RSB Thuringia Bulls and RSV Lahn-Dill).
