BBL Trophy, Semi Final, Second Leg
Glasgow Rocks 89-108 London Lions (15-27, 42-50, 64-79)
(Rocks – Keeling 17, Jacdonmi 14, Delph 14; Lions – Williams 26, Ware 22, Dang Akodo 11)
London Lions booked their place in the BBL Trophy final with a convincing win over Glasgow Rocks on Wednesday evening.
The Lions were in firm control of the tie after their 90-66 victory in London last week, and they carried their excellent form into the Emirates Arena against a Rocks side looking for a much-needed boost.
London started the game well and built an early first quarter lead, with Dirk Williams and Deandre Liggins leading the Lions’ early charge. The Rocks fought back in the second period and cut the Lions lead to single digits in what was a thoroughly entertaining half of British basketball.
Again the Rocks came out fighting in the second half in what seemed an insurmountable task to overturn the aggregate in only two periods of basketball. However the Lions, led by an incredible performance from Dirk Williams’ 26 points, really turned on the style in the final quarter.
He’s at it again! Dirk Williams WOW!

Kevin Ware enjoyed an electric performance off the bench and ended the ballgame an insatiable six from six from three-point range.
Chris Keeling stuffed the statsheet nicely for the Rocks as he posted 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists, as the Rocks’ young core again showed flashes of promise in an otherwise disappointing night.
London will be looking to make up for the disappointment of their BBL Cup Final loss as they look to get their hands on their first piece of silverware this season, and on tonight’s showing they will prove a match for anyone in the BBL.
