Plymouth City Patriots today announced the signing of British born big man Kingsley Okoroh.
Kingsley, standing 7’1″ was a member of the successful London Lions team last season and previous to that played for Spanish side Araberri Basket Club in LEB Gold where he averaged 5.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and one block per game, averaging 19 minutes per game.
Kingsley started playing junior basketball with Derby Trailblazers and made multiple appearances for England U16s and U18s before heading overseas in 2013 with Westwind Prep School followed by NCAA Division One basketball playing for the University of California Golden Bears where he improved year on year.
“I’m thankful to be a part of a club with incredible ambition,” said Kingsley. “I’m excited to work with a well-respected Head Coach and experienced trainers and assistants. Hopefully I can bring success to the team this season.”
Coach Paul James added, “I see this as a pivotal time for Kingsley and his professional basketball career ambitions.
“It’s an opportunity for him to show people what he is capable of, what he can do on the court given the right direction and focus. I believe Kingsley has a high ceiling with so much to offer our programme.
“I’m very much looking forward to working with him and turning him into the dominate force he should be at both ends of the court.”
